The "Historical Clean Strap Series" is crafted using intricate handcrafting techniques reminiscent of historical methods. In this series, we aim to merge historical craftsmanship with a clean leather finish without any additional leather color or balm, embodying the essence of purism and vintage straps from the 1940s – understated, discreet, and yet inherently historical.

Due to its authentic character, each band is offered in two folding techniques: the True Vintage folding technique and the OEM-Style folding technique with installed stainless steel tubes. In the True Vintage folding technique, the strap is thicker at the lug, hence no tubes are used. Conversely, the strap in the OEM-Style folding technique is thinner at the lug for easier installation and comes with installed stainless steel tubes.

For a lug width of 22 mm, the strap is supplied without stainless steel tubes, as many watch manufacturers equip watches with this lug width with spring bars. Spring bars and metal tubes should not be combined, as this can complicate the removal of the spring bars later on.

Strap with stainless steel tubes are particularly suitable for watches with screwed lugs, as they prevent the screw lugs from rubbing against the band and prevent them from loosening from the thread (a kind of safeguard). However, if needed, the steel tubes can be easily pushed out of our strap with a pointed object, as they are not glued in place.

• The Strap is suitable for wrist circumferences from 16cm to 20cm, as we have punched the first hole at 43mm from the lug.
• The distance from hole center to hole center is only 7 mm. We have punched a total of 8 oval holes.
• The Strap is compatible with all common OEM buckles available on the market.

We understand the importance of a comfortable and perfect fit between the watch case and the strap, and therefore, we have solved various leather issues during product development to ensure a perfect fit.

As lighting has a crucial influence on the actual color perception, we recommend you to view all product photos. We have tried to photograph the band under different lighting conditions to give you a comprehensive impression of its color.

The Strap comes without a buckle. A screwed buckle in the appropriate width can be ordered under accessories.

Width and Thickness

• The length is 130mm on the long side and 80mm on the short side.
• For a lug width of 26 mm, the band has a thickness of approximately 4.5 mm to 5.5 mm.
• For a lug width of 24 mm, the band has a thickness of approximately 4 mm to 5 mm.
• For a lug width of 22 mm, the band has a thickness of approximately 3.5 mm to 4 mm.

Holes

• We have punched the holes to fit an OEM buckle, and a loop has been sewn tight. This allows for a perfect fit on the wrist later on.

Manufacturing

• The Strap adheres to the classic manufacturing style of the original.
• The buckle and the first keeper are placed in a loop.

Materials Used

• Soft and high-quality cowhide leather from a German tannery (traditionally vegetable-tanned leather from Pirmasens-Germany).
• Tear-resistant and stable waxed yarn made in Germany!
• Beeswax leather balm (resin- and acid-free)

Tradition and Passion

• The strap is made using historical folding and stitching techniques from the 1950s. Only antique tools are used, from the old Adler sewing machine to the antique leather knife and old leather planer.
• The leather is not painted with leather color afterwards, and no chemicals are used.
