Product description
Historically accurate leather strap made according to originals of the Italian and German navies of the 1940s.
Time Machine True Vintage Strap Series
"We used a time machine to bring these straps back to you from 1950." For this series, both the leather and the tools used date back to the 1950s – genuine antiques. The strap is crafted entirely by hand using highly elaborate techniques. Authentic craftsmanship, reconstructed 1:1 from a historical original.
The result: A strap that, despite its strength, remains supple, flexible and water-repellent – ideal for everyday use and extreme conditions.
These bracelets are from the historic Corrigia Vintage series and are made exactly as shown in the product photos. They are authentic vintage bracelets with original folding and sewing techniques.
Depending on the style, the bracelets are offered with or without a sewn-in clasp . In styles with a sewn-in clasp , the band and clasp are permanently joined . They belong together – structurally, functionally, and historically. Like a marriage: once joined, forever united.
Dimensions
- Bridge widths: 24 mm or 26 mm
- Standard length: 130 / 80 mm (approx. 16–18 cm)
- Historical XXL length: 150 / 90 mm (approx. 19–22 cm)
- The extended length is historically accurate and deliberately intended.
- Suitable for all 44mm, 47mm and 48mm watches
Historical folding techniques we use
- Triple-fold (1950s): 3-fold short side, 4-fold inner sandwich fold long side
- 2533 technique (1930s): 3.5-fold internal folding technique with inlays
- 3646 technique (1940s): voluminous 3.5-fold internal folding technique
Assembly & Behavior
- Solid construction at the bridge (≥ approx. 2.5 mm leather thickness)
- First assembly deliberately tighter
- Recommendation: Initial assembly without tubes
- After a short period of wear, the leather adapts to the shape of the case.
- Use stainless steel tubes only after approximately 2 weeks.
Manufacturing & Finish
- Completely hand-sewn
- Antique Serafil sewing thread (circa 1960-1970)
- Hand-sanded & hand-polished
🧱 Material logic & historical construction
We are very reluctant to split leather in order to preserve the natural structure, density, and stability of the material. Therefore, our historical folding techniques follow a clear artisanal logic:
-
🪵If the original leather is thicker than approximately 2.0 mm, we completely forgo additional linings. The leather is processed as a whole, unsplit material and brought to the desired strap thickness solely through traditional folding techniques.
-
🧩If the outer leather is thinner than approximately 1.9 mm, a suitable leather inlay is used. The thickness of the inlay is always added to the thickness of the outer leather to achieve a historically accurate overall thickness.
-
✋We decide which method to use during production, depending on the type of leather and its natural structure.
-
🕰Both approaches are historically accurate and were already used on originals from the 1930s to the 1960s.
-
📏The goal is always the same: an authentic, solid overall band thickness of approximately 5–6 mm, as was common with original vintage military bracelets.
