strap-width-faq-en

Sizing Information: The lug width and buckle width sizes are given in millimeters and total length of watch bands is stated in centimeters. Width is the distance between the lugs, where the strap meets the watch. To determine your width, you can take a ruler or caliper, and measure the width of the part of the strap that uses spring bars / screws to attach to your watch case. Measure this in millimeters.Width is expressed, for example like this: 24/22 (24mm wide by 22mm wide). This first number (24mm) is the width of the strap between the lugs of the watch case. The second number (22mm) is the width of the strap at the buckle.

Straight size Straps: “Straight” strap is one that is the same width at the lugs and the buckle, i.e 24/24 (24mm wide at lugs by 24mm wide at buckle).

Tapered sizes Straps: Tapered straps start out wider at the lugs (the end that attaches to your watch) and narrow (taper) toward the direction of the tail and the buckle. While a “tapered” strap is one that tapers in width from the lugs to the buckle, i.e 24/22 (24mm wide at lugs by 22 wide at buckle).

strap-lengthLS-faq-en

  • There are two lengths required, the Longside (length of long section with holes), and the buckle side (length of short section, excluding buckle).
  • Length is expressed, for example like this: 125/75. The first number (125) is the length in millimeters of the long side with holes. The second number (75) is the length in millimeters of the buckle side.
  •
  • The strap length suggestion is based on wrist size. To determine the your wrist length, you can simply wrap a piece of string/thread around your wrist at the point where you normally wear your watch, mark the string where it crosses itself, lay it flat on a table and measure the distance between the marks. This is your wrist size.
  •
  • How do I determine my wrist (length) size?
  • You can simply measure your wrist with a tape measure or a piece of thread. With the thread option, wrap it around your wrist at the point where you would normally wear your watch. Then, lay the thread out flat and measure the distance from the end to your mark on the thread. Next, refer to the length size chart below and choose the size that corresponds with your wrist measurement.
  •
  • If you measured your wrist and it turns out, for example, that your wrist is exactly 7" which falls at the end of the 6.6" - 7" size range, then definitely choose the strap size that your wrist measurement corresponds to in our size chart below, which in this case would be 125/75. There's no need to go up a size and there are no in between sizes.

  • OEM-style folding technique: At this folding technique, the strap gets the same uniform Thickness on both sides of Strap-parts as a normal manufacturer's Strap and can be mounted to the watch with tubes.
  • True Vintage Technique: True Vintage Straps were built in the 1950s for vintage Panerai watches. For this historic massive folding technique, the "4-fold inner sandwich technique" is used for the short side and the "3-fold folding technique" and for the long side. As a result, the Strap thick ond Lugside and touches the watch case, so you have no distance between the watch case and Strap.
  • 2533 Folding technique: This folding technique was developed in the 1930s for Vintage Rolex / Panerai Radiomir watches. In this historic massive folding technique. Both sides with 3,5 Layers Inner Sandwich technique.
  • 3646 Folding technique: This folding technique was also developed in the 1930s for Vintage Rolex / Panerai Radiomir watches. This historic voluminous folding technique uses 3.5 times "inner folding technique" on both sides.
  • In all three historical folding techniques, the Strap on the Lug-Side is thicker and there is no gap between the Strap and Watchcase at Lugside! So you should take time for the first installation (without Tubes). But even after the first installation, the leather strap on the Lug-Side is slightly deformed by the watch case, resulting in a simpler and faster assembly on subsequent installation!

Our saddle stitch guarantees maximum stability and durability. Our hand-stitched piece that uses the "running stitch" provides a stronger and more durable construction than the machine sewn piece that uses the "locking stitch".

If a thread were to snap on a piece that uses a sewing machine, the entire line of thread could potential unravel allowing the two pieces of leather to separate. However in a hand-stitched piece, the thread will not unravel and the leather pieces will not separate from each other. More importantly, it's easier to repair the line of stitching.

Watch straps, which are joined together with a saddle stitching, are made in careful and time-consuming manual work.

This allows us to respond to individual peculiarities of the material and offer a better Premiun product.

Hand-made straps require a lot more skills, dedication and time as every single hole that needs to be punched very precise in the leather in order to sew the strap.
